Each year, the Association of Energy Services Professionals brings together people who care deeply about advancing energy efficiency, and this year’s conference in San Diego reminded me why this community is so special.
First and foremost, it was wonderful to reconnect with colleagues, partners, and friends from across the industry. Energy efficiency professionals are a passionate group. Whether we’re talking about program design, product distribution, customer engagement, or new ideas for reaching households, the conversations are always thoughtful, energetic, and purpose-driven. There’s a shared commitment to making programs work better for the people they serve.
Jessica and I also had the chance to enjoy everything San Diego has to offer. The weather was spectacular, and the hospitality throughout the city made the experience even more memorable. Between conference sessions and meetings, it was great to take in a little sightseeing and soak up the sunshine.
This year’s conference was especially exciting because it was the best-attended AESP Annual Conference ever. The strong turnout created a buzz of energy in the halls, sessions, and expo floor. You could feel that our industry is growing and evolving and that people are eager to collaborate on what comes next.
At our booth, we had a lot of fun showcasing our new brand and new swag. One of the biggest hits? Our under eye masks, which disappeared almost as quickly as we put them out. Apparently everyone at the conference appreciated a little self care after busy conference days and fun nights!
But the most entertaining feature at the booth had to be our remote-controlled delivery truck obstacle course. Watching people from across the industry take a break brought out everyone’s competitive side! CLEAResult beat us for best booth by hosting a space for suckers like me to come hold and play with puppies who needed to be adopted. I was this/close to coming home with one of them.
We came away from the week feeling incredibly excited about what lies ahead for 2026. If this year’s conference is any indication, the future of our industry—and the partnerships that power it—looks very bright.
