At Power Path Logistics,
accessibility is not a buzz word. It is part of how we define energy efficiency itself.
For years, energy efficiency programs have focused on reducing energy usage, lowering utility bills, and helping households adopt newer technologies. Those goals matter deeply. We also believe something else is true: energy efficiency should reduce the energy burden and improve quality of life for everyone — especially seniors, individuals with mobility challenges, and households that may not otherwise have access to these technologies and services.
That belief is what led us to create SIES (Savings for Income Eligible Seniors) in 2019.
SIES was designed to provide direct installation of energy efficiency, safety, and comfort measures for income-eligible senior citizens across Illinois. Many seniors want safer, more comfortable homes but face barriers that make upgrades difficult. Sometimes it is cost. Sometimes it is mobility limitations. Sometimes it is simply not knowing where to start or who to trust. We wanted to help remove those barriers and to bring the energy savings and comfort to them.
Through SIES, we made homes safer, easier to navigate, and more energy efficient while treating every participant with dignity, patience, and care. The program is rooted in the understanding that a smart home is not just about convenience — it can also support independence, comfort, and peace of mind. That same commitment extends to our work as a supplier for the Ameren Illinois Accessibility Program and to similar accessibility-focused work we have helped implement in the Milwaukee area for Focus on Energy. The products we provide are intentionally selected to support accessibility and ease of use in everyday life. These include:
- Smart thermostats that make temperature control easier and more efficient
- Smart plugs and advanced power strips that simplify energy management
- Smart lighting solutions that improve visibility and convenience
- Google Smart Home products that allow voice-controlled assistance
- Z-Wave Hub products that create connected, accessible living environments
- Weatherization, LED lighting and other products that make the home more comfortable and safer.
For many people, these products are viewed as modern conveniences. For others, they can be life-changing tools that support aging in place, reduce physical strain, improve safety, and help people feel more confident in their homes. Our team cares deeply about the people behind the programs. Every shipment, installation kit, and product we supply represents a real household, a real person, and a real opportunity to make daily life a little easier and more comfortable.
As technology continues to evolve, we believe accessibility must remain part of the conversation. Energy efficiency should not only save energy — it should help people live better, safer, and more independently. Interested in learning more? Click here to read the SIES whitepaper.
