Absolutely. Nathaniel’s answers have some really wonderful moments—especially his love of coming to work, his appreciation for his coworkers, and his answer about wanting to buy a house for his mom. I’d make those the emotional heart of his feature.
People of Power Path: Meet Nathaniel Schaper
At Power Path Logistics, we know that our people are what make our company special. Every team member brings something unique to the workplace, and the People of Power Path series gives us a chance to share their stories.
This month, we’re excited to introduce you to Nathaniel Schaper!
Meet Nathaniel
Nathaniel lives in Brookfield, Illinois, with his mom. When he’s not at work, he enjoys watching YouTube and playing PS4.
But there’s one thing Nathaniel says makes him smile more than anything else:
Coming to work.
It’s easy to see why. Nathaniel has built friendships with his coworkers and found a place where he feels like part of the team.
And he has some pretty strong opinions when it comes to his favorite foods.
His favorites include cheese or pepperoni pizza, hot dogs with ketchup, and mac & cheese. His favorite restaurant is McDonald’s.
When it comes to holidays, Thanksgiving is Nathaniel’s favorite. Part of the reason? It’s in the same month as his birthday—and it falls right between Halloween and Christmas.
That’s a pretty good spot on the calendar!
Nathaniel’s Power Path Journey
Nathaniel has been part of the Power Path team since April 2021.
He first learned about the opportunity through the LT Transition Program, which helped him take an important step toward employment and independence.
Today, Nathaniel works in fulfillment, where he builds different energy efficiency kits for our customers.
His work requires attention to detail, consistency, and teamwork. And over the years, Nathaniel has learned something important about himself and what it takes to be successful at work.
He says one of the biggest things he’s learned is that he needs to be more assertive instead of waiting to be told what to do.
That’s an important lesson—and one that shows how much Nathaniel has grown since starting his Power Path journey.
A Workplace Close to Home—and Close to His Heart
One of the things Nathaniel likes most about working at Power Path is something very practical: it’s close to home.
When the weather is nice, Nathaniel can even walk to work.
But it’s more than just the convenient location that makes Power Path feel like home.
Some of Nathaniel’s friends from high school work here, too. Having familiar faces around him has helped create a workplace where Nathaniel feels connected to the people around him.
And he has developed some great relationships with his coworkers.
The People Who Make the Difference
Nathaniel has plenty of good things to say about his coworkers.
He especially appreciates Mollie, who knows when Nathaniel needs a sample for one of his kits and helps him get what he needs.
He also enjoys working with Jose.
Nathaniel describes Jose as a calming presence who is easy to joke with.
Those little interactions are an important part of what makes a workplace feel like a team. It’s knowing that someone has your back, understanding how your coworkers work, and being able to laugh together along the way.
Nathaniel’s Definition of a Good Teammate
Nathaniel has a thoughtful perspective on teamwork.
To him, being a good teammate means understanding the people you work with and considering how they work when talking to them about a mistake.
That’s a valuable lesson.
Everyone works differently. Everyone makes mistakes. And how we communicate with each other when something goes wrong can make all the difference.
Nathaniel understands that being a good teammate isn’t just about getting the job done. It’s about having patience, understanding the people around you, and treating your coworkers with consideration.
From Warehouse Associate to Future YouTuber?
If Nathaniel could try any job for a day, there’s no hesitation about what he’d choose:
YouTuber.
In fact, Nathaniel says that being a YouTuber was his original goal!
And if he could have any superpower to help him along the way?
Teleportation.
No traffic. No long trips. Just teleport wherever you want to go.
We have to admit—that’s a pretty useful superpower.
Nathaniel’s Biggest Dream
Some of Nathaniel’s answers reveal just how much he cares about his mom.
If he won a million dollars, the first thing he’d buy would be a house for his mom.
And if he could travel anywhere in the world, he wouldn’t choose a particular city, country, or attraction.
He’d go anywhere his mom wanted to go because she deserves it.
That’s a pretty wonderful answer.
Words of Wisdom
Nathaniel has some simple advice for someone starting their first job:
“Go slowly and it’s OK to make mistakes.”
That’s advice worth remembering.
Starting a new job can be intimidating. There’s a lot to learn, and nobody knows everything on their first day.
Nathaniel’s own journey shows how much you can learn when you give yourself time, keep working, and don’t let mistakes stop you from moving forward.
We’re Glad You’re Part of the Team, Nathaniel!
Nathaniel has been part of Power Path since 2021, and in that time he’s grown, learned new skills, built friendships, and become an important part of our fulfillment team.
He comes to work with a positive attitude, takes pride in the work he does, and appreciates the people around him.
And while he may still have his sights set on becoming a YouTuber someday, we’re pretty happy to have him here with us right now!
Thanks for being part of the Power Path, Nathaniel!
About People of Power Path
People of Power Path is our employee spotlight series celebrating the people who make Power Path Logistics what it is. We believe everyone has a story, unique talents, and something valuable to contribute—and we’re proud to share those stories with our customers, partners, and community.
I especially like “Coming to work” as the opening because it immediately communicates how much Nathaniel values being part of the Power Path team. The house-for-his-mom answer is also a great closing emotional moment.
