We believe our people are what make Power Path Logistics special. They bring their own talents, personalities, experiences, and perspectives to the work we do every day. For Cathy, that means being the person who is always ready to help, always willing to learn, and increasingly taking on new challenges. Cathy joined Power Path in 2022. What began as a role primarily focused on work on the warehouse floor has grown into a much broader position supporting customers, managing programs, processing returns, and training other employees. And she’s just getting started!
When Cathy looks back at what she was doing when she first started compared with what she’s doing today, she can see just how much she’s grown. “So much! Just thinking about what I was doing here a year ago, compared to today, it’s a big difference.” Today, Cathy wears a lot of hats at Power Path. She’s involved in managing new programs, processing returns, assisting with customer service, and training employees. She also works directly with customers and has taken ownership of important accounts.
One of the accomplishments she’s most proud of is taking on two new customers and successfully managing their accounts. And there’s a pretty impressive result behind that accomplishment: both customers have ultimately given Power Path more work than they originally planned, thanks in large part to the quality of the work Cathy has done managing their programs, building trust and showing customers that their business is in good hands.
Ask Cathy what she enjoys most about her job, and one thing stands out: variety. “I like being able to do different things in my work day. And I like the people!” That flexibility is a big part of what makes her such a valuable member of the Power Path team. One day might involve customer-related work or processing returns, while another might involve helping with a program, working alongside the warehouse team, or training a coworker. Cathy enjoys being busy and useful—and especially enjoys knowing that what she’s doing helps the larger team succeed. She’s also a self-described hard worker who enjoys helping people, which makes her a natural fit for a company built around teamwork and service.
Cathy’s commitment to helping people doesn’t stop when she leaves the warehouse. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her family, cooking, and baking. And if you’ve been lucky enough to eat something Cathy has made, you already know she has some serious kitchen skills. She’s famous among her family and friends for her baby back ribs, spanikopita, brownies, and chocolate peanut butter bars. Her favorite food? Crab legs. Her favorite restaurant? Twin Anchors, an outstanding, longstanding restaurant in Chicago’s Old Town restaurant. And if she could spend an entire day doing something completely different from logistics, she’d choose taking care of dogs. (We wonder if her birds would approve!) Mango and Sunny presumably benefit from the same caring personality that her coworkers experience every day. There’s a pretty clear pattern here: Cathy likes taking care of people—and animals, too.
Cathy says one of the things she enjoys most about her coworkers is that everyone can simply be themselves. “We’re very laid back and just say what we’re thinking here. We don’t hold back, we aren’t on edge with each other. We are ourselves.” That sense of openness and authenticity is an important part of the Power Path Logistics culture. We’re a growing company, and our days can be busy. But we also believe people do their best work when they can communicate honestly, ask questions, help each other, and feel comfortable being themselves. Cathy is a great example of that culture in action.
Her favorite holiday is Easter, and if she could travel anywhere in the world, she’d love to see Angel Falls in Venezuela. If she could have any superpower, though, she wouldn’t choose invisibility or the ability to fly. She’d choose something much more practical: “Getting anything done in the snap of my fingers!” Honestly, we already thought she had that superpower!
We’re grateful for everything she brings to our team—from her willingness to jump in and help, to the customer relationships she’s helping us build, to the many new skills she’s developed along the way. Cathy, thank you for being a hardworking, helpful, and genuinely wonderful part of the Power Path team. We’re lucky to have you in the hive!
