Our work at Power Path Logistics is powered by people who show up every day ready to learn, contribute, and help their teammates succeed. One of those people is Christa, who has been an important part of our team since May 20, 2019. She is a leader, a great example to her peers, and a priceless member of our cherished team. Over the past seven years, Christa has built an impressive knowledge of our operations, our customers, and the many programs we support. She has become someone her teammates can count on—not only to get her own work done, but to step in whenever someone else needs a hand. And if you ask Christa what she likes most about working at Power Path, her answer is simple: her friends.
Christa first learned about the opportunity at Power Path after completing Project SEARCH at the Brookfield Zoo through Helping Hand. What started as a job opportunity has grown into a long-term career where Christa has developed new skills and become an invaluable member of our warehouse team. Today, a typical day might include scanning orders and printing shipping labels, packing orders, building kits, and helping her teammates with whatever needs to get done. But Christa’s role goes far beyond checking tasks off a list.
Over the years, she has learned how to pack and scan orders, build assemblies and kits, and support her coworkers throughout the fulfillment process. She has also developed a broad understanding of the programs and companies Power Path works with. She is the go-to teammate for anyone with questions or challenges to solve. In fact, Christa says she knows “a lot about every program and company that we work for” and can help her team with pretty much all of their work.
If there is one theme that comes through in everything Christa says, it’s her commitment to helping others. When asked what accomplishment at work she’s most proud of, she didn’t mention a particular project, production goal, or milestone. Her answer was: “Helping anybody who needs help.” That’s also how Christa defines being a good teammate: helping others with everything they may need. Her family would describe her in much the same way. Christa says the three words her family would use to describe her are kind, hardworking, and helpful—qualities that are easy to see in the way she approaches her work. And when asked what she enjoys most about her coworkers? “I love them.” We think the feeling is mutual!
Even after more than seven years at Power Path Logistics, Christa isn’t done learning. When asked what she’s excited about this year, she said: “Learning something new.” That curiosity and willingness to grow are a big part of what makes Christa such a valuable member of our team. She’s also proof that a career doesn’t have to follow a traditional path to be successful. With the right opportunity, support, training, and determination, employees can build skills, confidence, relationships, and a meaningful career over time. And while Christa loves her job at Power Path Logistics, if she could try something completely different for a day, she’d choose to work at a daycare—because she also loves kids. She always takes time from her day to ask her colleagues about their kids and is up to speed on their antics, their achievements and their growth.
When she’s not at Power Path Logistics, Christa enjoys spending time with her family—her mom, sister, brother, and dad. She also loves to read and has quite the collection of books at home. Her perfect weekend is pretty relaxing: watching TV, unwinding, and sometimes settling in for a scary movie. Her favorite food? Pizza. Favorite show? Pretty Little Liars. Favorite holiday? Her birthday! And if she could have any superpower, she’d choose one that would make getting around a whole lot easier: Flying. Her dream destination is equally enthusiastic: Disneyland or Disney World. After all, as Christa says, “It’s the happiest place on earth!”
Christa has some simple but meaningful advice for someone starting their first job: “I hope you enjoy working here. I’m happy to have you here on board.” It’s a fitting message from someone whose own career has grown from learning the job to helping others learn theirs. And when asked what she’s worked hard to accomplish, Christa points to something that may sound simple—but is incredibly important in a busy warehouse environment: Getting everything done on time before she leaves. We know that reliability matters. So does teamwork. So does caring about the people around you. Christa brings all three. Thank you, Christa, for seven-plus years of hard work, kindness, teamwork, and—most importantly—always being willing to help. We’re lucky to have you as part of the hive!
People of Power Path celebrates the people who make our work possible every day. Their skills, personalities, experiences, and dedication are what make Power Path more than a warehouse or fulfillment partner—we’re a team. Your Path. Our Priority.
