The safety of our employees is more than a priority—it’s a core part of who we are. Recently, our Chief Operating Officer, Jessica Williams, and Warehouse Manager, Colleen Ryan, led a comprehensive hands-on safety training for our entire team. The session was designed to reinforce essential workplace safety practices while preparing employees to respond confidently in a variety of situations. The training covered a wide range of topics, including:
- Weather-related emergency preparedness
- Public safety and active threat awareness
- Proper lifting and material handling techniques
- Forklift safety procedures
- Pallet jack operation and best practices
- CPR and Heimlich maneuver demonstrations
- General workplace safety fundamentals
By combining classroom instruction with practical, hands-on exercises, employees were able to build confidence and strengthen the skills they use every day in our warehouse and fulfillment operations. The training also reinforced our warehouse operating philosophy, captured in our SOLE framework:
S – Safe
Safety comes first in every task, process, and decision.
O – Organized
An organized workspace reduces risk, improves productivity, and supports accuracy.
L – Labelled
Clear labeling ensures products, equipment, and inventory are easy to identify and manage.
E – Efficient
Efficient operations help us deliver exceptional service while maintaining a safe work environment.
SOLE serves as a daily reminder that safety and operational excellence go hand in hand.
As our company continues to grow, we remain committed to investing in our people through ongoing training, education, and continuous improvement. By equipping our team with the knowledge and tools they need to work safely, we create a stronger workplace for everyone and ensure we can continue delivering exceptional service to our customers. A special thank you to Jessica and Colleen for their leadership and dedication to fostering a culture where safety is everyone’s responsibility.
